Well I started the thirty Day Challenge. It is really interesting and easy to follow. My only problem is trying to find the time to get all the lessons finished. There just isn't enough hours in the day. Of course I know we can find time for anything that we really want to do, so I have been doing pretty well at keeping up with the the lessons. I think I am on day 6 now.

They have some very good tools that they give you free and some that do cost, but you either get a 45 day free trial so you can use it the whole time you are in the challenge with an option to buy at the end of the trial.

They have three or four videos per day and also you can download the videos and a PDF of the lesson to refer to later if need be.

If you do everything you are suppose to do, it will take you at least an hour or more per day.

One thing that I have gotten out of the course is the use of the Flock bowser. I have always been a big fan of FireFox and still like FireFox, but I will admit the Flock browser is really nice. Of course I believe it is built on the Firefox engine so it is very much like FireFox and most FireFox addons will work just fine with Flock. Flock is a little more suited to Social Networking and that is the main reason I believe they recommend it.

Hi Folks.

Well I finally got around to using John & Soren's Instant Banner Creator software.

I haven't done much with it yet, but I can tell that it is really easy to use and you can make some very impressive banners, buttons and other graphics with it.

Of course with it being free it is a no brainer. Why everyone wouldn't get their copy is beyond me. I mean come on at some point in time you might want to make a banner and with Instant Banner Creator you can do it quickly and easily and it want cost you a dime.

Now if you think you will be using it a lot you probably should go on and take the one time offer. It really is well worth the price and there are several advantages to having the pro version of Instant Banner Creator. The main one being that you can make animated gifs with it and also you can have many more saved graphics.

If you haven't looked at InstantBannerCreator yet you can take a look Here.

Well I have upgraded all my blogs to the new WordPress Version 2.7. Everything when off without a hitch. I had absolutely no problems what so ever with the upgrade. I did  use the "InstantUpgrade" plugin, which I had been using for serveral months. I only had one plugin that was not compatible "Simple Tags", and the software told me about it and I just simply deleted it. I didn't really use it much any way.

I really do like the layout of the new version so far. It seems easier to navigate and is very user friendly. Plus there have been quite a few new features added. I am sure I have not found all of them yet, but the ones I have found I like.

Of course two of the new features are the "version upgrade" and "plugin upgrade" that I used to do with plugins are now build into the core of WordPress, so you no longer need the plugins. Under the Plugins Tab on the left you will find a new selection "Add New". This will allow you to download a plugin directly from the WordPress.org Plugin Directory or you can upload a zip file from your computer. The plugin will be installed automatically. The option to upgrade WordPress is found under the Tools Tab. There you have a selection called appropriately "Upgrade". You will have a choice of using FTP or HTTP. I have been using the HTTP mode with no trouble, but you do have to have all the permissions set right on the files and folders

Another nice feature is the ability to completely customize the dashboard. There is a screen option tab at the top left that will allow you to select what you want to show on the Dashboard.

Well I guess that is about all for now, but as I learn more I will post it here.

Have a Good Week!

Well I am sure that you have noticed I am using a different theme. I just could not believe the flexibility of the theme, but I guess I should have since the name of it is "Flexibility".

This new theme is by Ryan Grabenstein and he really did name it right. You can customize everything about this theme. As I said, I didn't think there was that many thing to change.

Flexibility is an extremely customizable theme for WordPress. Control your blog width, sidebar widths and configuration, blog colors, graphics, background images and so much more. Download additional theme graphics, view tutorials on customization. Even though this theme is free Ryan will be glad to take a donation at FlexibilityTheme.com.

Here is a quote from the author's page.

What is Flexibility?

Flexibility is a new free theme for WordPress blogs that gives you total creative freedom. Everyone has a different use for their blog and other themes constrain you to a pre-determined width, number of sidebars, or color scheme. Flexibility doesn’t!

How many times have you installed a blog widget only to find your sidebar positioned below your content? It’s because your sidebar is programmed to be a fixed width and the widget is wider than what the theme allows. This breaks your layout and if you don’t know CSS your only choices are to live with it, change themes or not use the widget. Flexibility eliminates this problem and gives you total freedom to customize your blog!

Flexibility theme features

  • Easy-to-use control panel in your WordPress administration
  • Absolutely no need to know CSS, HTML or PHP to completely customize your blog
  • Multiple sidebar options: choose from a stacked sidebar with multiple sub-sidebars or make your sidebar just one column
  • Free add-on graphics available to change as little or as much of your theme as you wish
  • Use custom background and header images including CSS repeat parameters
  • Easily create a full-width header or footer
  • Take advantage of PNG transparency and create entirely new looks - even in IE6!
  • Turn the search box, e-mail subscription, top sidebar and home page feature box on and off
  • Have full control over the color of text, links and hover states
  • Insert Google AdSense ads in 5 positions simply by selecting your color scheme, ad size, and content type
  • Insert anaytics and statistics scripts without touching the code

This just scratches the surface at what can be accomplished with Flexibility! Take a look at the sample blog design gallery at the top of this page (refresh for more) and you’ll see the vast array of options and looks that are possible.

If you you are new to WordPress, this may be a little overwhelming at first as there are so many options. Just take your time and follow the tutorials.

Also it is possible that WordPress version 2.7 will be out before my next post. So keep your eye out for that. I think you will really like it.
