Hello and Welcome,

Today I wanted to talk about why how to Choose a First Class Affiliate Program.

When it comes to choosing an affiliate program, how can you know if you've picked the right one? There are so many different affiliate programs available that it becomes difficult to choose the right one to suit your needs. The object of any affiliate program is to help you make money, so here are some things to look for when you're trying to find the right one for you.

Appeal

Perhaps the biggest mistake many people make is trying to appeal to everyone at once. You need to understand what your website visitors are searching for before you choose an affiliate program. When you have a clear understanding of the types of things your visitors will be searching for, you have a greater chance of appealing to their need to buy.

Commission

The next consideration is to ask yourself if the affiliate commission you'll receive will be worth the time and effort you put into promoting the program. Obviously your goal is to make as much money as possible from your efforts, so always check the amount you'll receive per sale.

Sales

Of course, a high commission amount is not always the same thing as a good selling product. It's important to weigh your findings against how well the product is likely to sell. There's no point trying to promote a product that might pay you a few hundred dollars per sale if you can't sell any. You might find that aiming at a product that will pay you a smaller commission on a far more regular basis could mean higher profits in the long run.

Credibility

Many people searching for affiliate programs aim at highly credible companies or high-profile names on the internet. While it's important to try and aim at working with a credible company, it's also important to remember that there are also plenty of newer companies appearing on the internet offering great opportunities. Be sure to check what other affiliates are saying about a particular company.

Tracking

Affiliate programs use cookies to track the referrals they receive from affiliates. These cookies allow them to identify you as the owner of the rightful account to be credited with the commission if a sale is made.

While many product owners choose to use third-party affiliate managers, there are also many companies that run their own internal tracking systems.

Reporting

When you're spending time and money promoting a product, you want to know you can access accurate reporting information quickly. Real time stats reporting can show you how many people are clicking through on your affiliate links and how many of those clicks are converting to actual sales. The ability to access the information in your stats reports is an integral part of any successful affiliate program.

Marketing Tools

You should always try to locate affiliate programs that offer you a wide range and selection of marketing tools. Throwing a few pretty banners on your website is perhaps the least effective way of promoting any affiliate program, so consider looking for programs that offer ready-made marketing material you can use.

Ideally, you should be given access to articles, pop under ads, reviews, ebooks you can use for viral marketing efforts, auto-responders, RSS feeds, video presentations, audio presentations, social networking and book-marking tools, ezine ads, blogging tools and traffic exchanges.

Cost to Join

Most affiliate programs are free to join. After all, they want you to sell their products for them, so they'll try to make it easy for you to sign up. Always be sure you're working with affiliate programs that don't cost you anything to join.

EzyZone.com offers you all these things and more. Simply join up and you'll be given access to tools that will allow you to create your own websites that you can use to promote your affiliate programs. Well, another week has gone. They go faster and faster. I have been pretty busy this week. I have been putting up some more blogs with my new toy... Expert WordPress.Boy am I impressed with this software. Alex Sysoef and Dmitriy Agadzhanov the two co-owners of Expert WordPress have really gone overboard to make this the best blog installer that I have ever seen. They have a free version which I used for a while and it did a good job. With the free version you do have to download the installer and then upload to you domain, then run it and it will install your blog, install the theme and plugins. Then it will activate the pluigins and do some SEO tweaks. With the free version, you do have to create your database before running the installer.I have since upgraded to the paid version which does all the free version does plus it creates your database and you download nothing. You just login to your back office, click on "1- Click Installer" and fill in a few blanks with information about you cpanel and your blog... click "Install WordPress" and you are done and you have a new blog.Another important point about Expert WordPress is after you have installed your blog, it is just like a manual install. You can change themes, add plugins and do anything else you would normally do to your blog.I was especially impressed with the amount of security and SEO optimization that is done with this program. They also have an unbelievable amount of information available to paid members on their site. There is a monthly upgrade if you need content and prewritten comments and other stuff for you blog.Oh By The Way, did I mention the upgrade is only $7. Awesome! You really should check this out. You can do that Here.

Week In Review

Well this has been a busy week. I have been spending a lot time upgrading to the new WordPress version 2.8.3. and a lot time upgrading plugins. It seems that WordPress is constantly upgrading to a new version. Before you can learn the new stuff another version is out. Even though these last two releases were just security  fixes and nothing new to learn, it still takes time to get all your blogs updated. Then there usually is several plugins that will have to be updated and that takes more time. This is good and bad. It is good because it lets you know that WordPress is striving to continually improve the platform. It is bad because it takes so much time to keep up. But, I guess I would rather spend the time and know I have as good a platform as there is at the time rather save the time and wonder if there was something better.I really should not complain, because in spite of being without air conditioning for two days and it being to hot in the house to work, I still got a lot done this week.I am trying a new WordPress plugin that produces optin forms for your blog. It will give you popup forms, exit forms, forms in another window under the current window or forms in your sidebars with widgets.I am still in the process of getting everything setup so I can't tell you how effective it is yet, but I will keep you posted. If you just can't wait and want to take a look at it yourself, you can go to the site and check it out. The name of the plugin is "FasterIM Optin". There is a free version and a paid version. I have the paid version because I think the added features are well worth the price. You could of course try the free version first and then if you need the extra features upgrade. You can find the site here.
