Now you can use the same technique used by companies like 37 Signals, Amazon & Walmart to improve the conversion on your sales & optin pages and provide a better experience to your visitors at the same time…

In a minute I will show you how you can optimize your site in a weekend. And no, you don’t have to be a technical genius to do that or have a big budget for hosting servers…

Charles asks…

I need help in changing a header in wordpress theme.?

I need help in changing a header in wordpress theme. This is a custom theme so admin, general is not available. I have the header in the same size and format as the other header. Please help. Website is jaxbjj.com and I see the header.php, but I am lost here. Here is the .phpfile.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo(‘html_type’) ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo(‘charset’) ?>” />
<?php wp_title( '|', true, 'right' ); <strong>bloginfo</strong>( ‘name’ ); ?>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo(‘stylesheet_url’) ?>” type=”text/css” media=”screen” />
<!–[if IE 6]><link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/style.ie6.css” type=”text/css” media=”screen” /><![endif]–>
<!–[if IE 7]><link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php
bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/style.ie7.css” type=”text/css” media=”screen” /><![endif]–>
<?php if(WP_VERSION
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="” href=”<?php
bloginfo(‘rss2_url’); ?>” />
<link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="” href=”<?php bloginfo(‘atom_url’); ?>” />

<link rel="pingback" href="<?php bloginfo(‘pingback_url’); ?>” />

<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php bloginfo(‘template_url’); ?>/script.js”>

<body >

theme_get_option(‘theme_menu_source’),
‘depth’ => theme_get_option(‘theme_menu_depth’),
‘menu’ => ‘primary-menu’,
‘class’ => ‘art-hmenu’
)
);
?>

Herschel Lawhorn answers:

The easiest thing to do is view the current header image.
Note it’s url.
Note it’s name.
Rename your header image to the same as the current one.
Ftp your image up to the folder where the current one lives – it will overwrite.

Http://www.jaxbjj.com/2011/wp-content/themes/jaxbjj/images/header.jpg

There’s your image. Upload yours with the same name to wp-content/themes/jaxbjj/images

You’re done. Refresh your page and you should see your image.

Sandy asks…

“Parse error: Syntax Error” for WordPress Theme?

I’m trying to upload a customized WordPress theme and I keep getting this error when I try to activate the theme:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/t/r/e/tremak/html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/brown_theme/index.php on line 4

——————————————————–

Line 4 is where my PHP code begins ****

**** <br /> <?php <strong>bloginfo</strong>(‘name’); ?>

@import url(“<?php bloginfo(‘stylesheet_url’); ?>”);

<link rel="alternate"
type="application/rss+xml"
title="<?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?> RSS Feed”
href=”<?php bloginfo(‘rss2_url’); ?>” />
<link rel="alternate"
type="application/atom+xml"
title="<?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?> Atom Feed”
href=”<?php bloginfo(‘atom_url’); ?>” />
<link rel="pingback"
href="<?php bloginfo(‘pingback_url’); ?>” />

I put the asteriks there to show where Line 4 is
Also: I’m using the book, “WordPress 2.7 Complete” by April Hodge Silver to help me with this. I got to up to page 134 and ran into this problem.

Herschel Lawhorn answers:

Was there a reason that the asterisks were there?

Found your problem.

<br />

@import url(“”);

<link rel="alternate"
type="application/rss+xml"
title=" RSS Feed”
href=”” />
<link rel="alternate"
type="application/atom+xml"
title=" Atom Feed”
href=”” />
<link rel="pingback"
href="” />

Try that. It ran off on mine and did the usual Yahoo Answers … Deal and caused the Doctype to run into the head and style tags. Neither of my programs (WeBuilder 2010, DreamWeaver CS4, or WeBuilder 2008) gave me a syntax error on it. I <3 WP too!
