Well I have updated my blog to version 2.8.1 and everything went great. It took me just about an hour to upgrade 28 blogs.

Now this time did not included the time to backup my blogs. I already had backups so I didn’t have to do that again. However, I would suggest that if you don’t have recent backups of at least your wp-contents folder, your wp-config.php file and your database, that you do one before upgrading just in case something goes wrong.

I did have to update at least one plugin on every blog and some there were two plugins to update. I also deleted the “Hello Dolly” plugin on all my blogs as I never use it.

There are some security issues and several bugs that are fixed in the new version, so I would definitely upgrade as soon as possible.

I know some people like to wait a while after a new version comes out to see if it has bugs in it and a lot of times it does, so then you have wait for the next version. If you keep waiting for the perfect version I am afraid you will never have a blog or if you already one you will be years behind everyone else.

So go ahead and take the chance…upgrade now.

This week I also found a very good program for making your blog look like a regular website. It is great for building sales pages, affiliate pages or landing pages also called sqeeze pages.

You have all the advantages of a blog such as SEO, ease of installation, and a look that you want. You can have a page or pages that look like a regular html website, so there are no distractions from your content like sidebars or ads.

I have wanted something like this ever since I started putting up WordPress blogs. However, I have never seen anything like it ever before on the Internet and I have looked for a long time.

It is called WordPress Affiliate Pages and You can check it out here. If you use your blogs for marketing, I think you will love this.
